Beckfield College is based in Florence, Kentucky with a branch campus in Tri-County Cincinnati, Ohio and serves students from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. With a 93% job placement rate for the last five years, Beckfield College is focused on the success of each and every student, from enrollment through classes to graduation and career placement. Beckfield College opened its doors in 1984 with two students and a curriculum built for that day and age: secretarial and word processing coursework. Today, the fields of study have changed to meet the ever-growing needs of the community, and the number of students has jumped to nearly 1000.
Beckfield College is proud to offer outstanding high school seniors the opportunity to attend Beckfield College Tuition Free! Our Jump Start Program awards full tuition, renewable scholarships (excluding textbooks and class fees) to incoming high school seniors. For students who have completed junior year in high school, qualified individuals can attend one class per quarter (one night per week), earning up to 16 credits hours of college credit toward a Beckfield College degree Tuition Free.
Beckfield College offers programs in Business Administration, Computer Network Administration, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management, Healthcare Information Technology, Hospitality Management, Medical Assisting, Medical Office Technology, Nursing (RN), Paralegal Studies, and Practical Nursing. New programs are constantly being added to meet the evolving needs of our community and you!
Beckfield College has a variety of academic programs in health sciences, including a well-established nursing program. Currently offering an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing and a diploma program in Practical Nursing, Beckfield College has successfully placed nearly 95% of nursing students for the last four graduating classes. The college plans to offer a continuation of programming from an Associate Degree of Nursing to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010.
Beckfield College’s Criminal Justice Program has been expanding their faculty and technology to ensure students receive the most thorough educational offerings. Instructors teach and mentor students using years of practical experience coupled with state-of-the-art technology and fully equipped crime labs.
In 2009, the Criminal Justice Program added a new Fire Arms Training System (FATS) which generates real life experiences through virtual technology and provides the most advanced hands-on training possible. This highly realistic, interactive HD simulator trains students in real-time shoot-don’t shoot, judgmental use of force scenarios involving policing situations, jail experiences, and simulated security circumstances. It allows for all aspects of firearms training including marksmanship, critical thinking, decision-making and tactical strategies. The FATS simulator enables individuals to work with various weapons, including a 9 mm Glock 17, chemical spray and tasers. Combining these elements with a demanding curriculum, Beckfield College criminal justice students are more than prepared for the field upon graduation.
