What are your most popular majors?
A large percentage of our students are on a transfer curriculum, so interdisciplinary studies is our most popular major. Other popular majors are business, information technology, criminal justice and nursing.
What type of housing is available on campus?
Our co-ed residence hall provides space for 120 full-time students. Supervision is provided by a full-time lead resident assistant who is responsible for daily operations as well as educational and social activities. Student apartments are available for married couples and single parents with children.
Are there many student jobs available to freshmen?
There are both work-study and non-work study job options available to students.
Describe a typical Friday night on the campus social scene.
Frequent dorm and events at the planetarium are available to students on campus.
How is the food in the dining hall?
Our brand new dining hall features both a snack bar and a hot line Monday-Friday.
What percentage of students receive financial aid?
According to IPEDS about 22% of our students receive some form of financial aid (including grants and scholarships).
What is the average class size?
The average class size at CTC is 14.
How many places on campus can you get coffee?
There are plans to expand to three locations for coffee during the week, including a new “Learning Commons” in the library and our culinary and hospitality club bakery in the student center.
What are the most popular student activities/events of the year?
Our Join a Club days, multicultural events, the annual Haunted House and Geekfest are the most popular student activities.
Does Central Texas College offer any type of academic tutoring/support for freshmen?
Free tutoring is offered by our Academic Studio for all students, and includes study skills and subject-specific tutoring.
How many sports teams does Central Texas College have?
CTC doesn’t offer intercollegiate sports, but we have a full line-up of intramural sports, including: flag football, volleyball, 5k Eagle Trot Fall Walk/Run, Slam Dunk Contest, Three Point Contest, Free Throw Contest, Co-Ed Hot Shot Contest, Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament, basketball, softball, and soccer.
