Hands-on Learning Pays Off
At DelVal, our primary focus is the academic, personal and professional success of our students. As part of our degree programs, students are required to participate in a 500-hour employment program. This focus on both hands-on learning and academic studies gives our students a tremendous edge in the workforce: in recent years, an average 93 percent of our students were either employed or in graduate school shortly after graduation. You'll find DelVal students at organizations such as Merck & Co., PepsiCo, Ford, Marriott, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
In 2001, Delaware Valley College and the Hepatitis B foundation worked with former Gov. Mark Schweiker to found the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, the first research institution of its kind in the area.
Faculty Involvement
Delaware Valley College provides students with the best possible faculty for their education. Graduate students are not permitted to teach at DelVal; rather, we have a dedicated faculty, many of whom are outstanding professionals within their academic disciplines. Faculty works closely with students in tight ratios to ensure that every student meets his or her goals.
Green Campus
Even at first look, DelVal is an impressive sight. Our campus locations, comprised of over 550 acres, support a wide variety of plant an animal life, including an equine facility, meat and dairy cattle, swine and other livestock. DelVal houses and apiary for those interested in beekeeping, and our entire campus is part of the Henry Schmeider Arboretum. Our close location to Philadelphia and New York City offers even the most "green" student an opportunity to kick back and enjoy social life in the down time between classes and an active campus.
