Academic Programs
Spotlight: Newark College of Engineering
NJIT's Newark College of Engineering has been educating first generation engineering students for more than 85 years. The goal is to make sure students graduate with the critically needed technical skills as well as the communication and leadership skills, interdisciplinary perspectives and practical experiences that make employers and graduate school admission officers take notice. Nearly one third of the engineers in New Jersey hold degrees from NJIT.

The NJIT advantage in engineering includes:

  • Learn and work with faculty members who are leaders in traditional and emerging technologies

  • Classes that average fewer than 30 students

  • Create cool stuff – while adding a practical, real-world edge to learning – through NJIT's many student competitions and class projects

  • Bolster hands-on experience with co-op, internship and research opportunities

Albert Dorman Honors College
Albert Dorman Honors College is a highly regarded technology-focused honors college. The college currently enrolls more than 600 of the nation's most academically talented students with SATs in the top 10 percent nationally and with mathematics proficiency in the top two percent. In addition to scholarship support, the Honors College offers an enriched curriculum featuring a variety of learning options such as independent study, research projects, industrial internships and service learning programs to NJIT students majoring in engineering, architecture, computing, business, science or math.

Expenses and Financial Aid
As a state-supported institution, NJIT makes every attempt to maintain affordable tuition costs. Modest tuition along with generous financial aid packages as well as co-op and work-study opportunities allow NJIT students to graduate with lower than average debt. More than 87 percent of incoming students receive financial aid in the form of need-based grants, loans or work-study, as well as merit-based scholarships. For especially capable students accepted into the Albert Dorman Honors College, scholarships are offered up to the full cost of attendance.
