The Art Institute of CincinnatiIn 1976 the college was founded, and is still operated, by two professional Designers. The Art Institute of Cincinnati is dedicated to excellence and preparing students for entry level positions. All of the faculty are designers, illustrators or computer graphics professionals working in the field with over 200 years experience. The curriculum is practical and innovative developed with a vision for the future. In 1984, AIC was the first college to offer a computer graphics major. All students in the second year are provided with a classroom computer and receive 1000 hours of instruction. The results are professional work and a knowledge of the software programs.

The Art Institute of CincinnatiAIC offers a two-year (22 month), 120 credit hour Associate Degree in Graphic Design / Computer Graphics. Beginning with the basics of Design, Art Studies, Writing courses, and Critical Thinking (so important in today's¹ business world). During the second year all work is produced on the computer using software popular with industry. Assignments include: Package design, CD design, Brochure design, Corporate identity, Web page development, Digital photography and Interactive storyboards.

The college is small, intimate & selective, admitting students who are serious and have a passion for art. Located just off I-275 and I-75 North of Cincinnati in Springdale. The area it is convenient with parking adjacent to the school and across the street. Public transportation is also available.

Classes run Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., giving students the opportunity for after school jobs. The school¹s location, near one of Cincinnati¹s largest shopping areas, provides students with an excellent variety from which to choose.

AIC assists students in finding housing and job placement, both while in school and after graduation. Graduates work internationally in all areas from designing Corporate Identity to National TV Commercials for Fortune 500 companies.

An accredited member of ACCSCT, AIC is also a member of the Better Business Bureau and a chartermember of the International Council of Design Schools (ICDS).

The Art Institute of CincinnatiAcceptance to AIC is by Interview & tour, Portfolio Review, (High School seniors need a Letter of Recommendation from an Art Teacher). Applicants are welcome to visit classes in session and encouraged to bring along parents and/or spouses.
