Your B-W Action Plan

Baldwin-Wallace CollegeIntegrate education with every part of your life. B-W will help you to build the skills of clear thinking and communication, to achieve your professional goals, to be a contributing member of society, and to enjoy the rewards of a life lived thoughtfully. At its heart is the outstanding preparation of a liberal arts curriculum taught by a faculty committed to hands-on learning-in and out of the classroom. Advising and career counseling will help connect you with the best resources and networks throughout and beyond the campus. The aim is to bring coherence to your college experience, to help you use all of it-your courses, your projects, your leisure activities, your part-time job-to achieve a competitive edge and to become the person you want to be.

Be Curious. B-W's more than 50 areas of study, from accounting to neuroscience, education to music theatre, ensure that you will have a rich foundation of portable skills, no matter what your career direction. Our innovative core courses provide a broad base of knowledge that will improve your global understanding and give you the tools you need to take an active role in shaping your future.

Be Real. Both in and beyond the classroom, we believe nothing teaches like experience. So we provide varied opportunities, both on and off campus. You might work with the clients of our campus speech clinic or learn from an internationally acclaimed composer in a week-long seminar. You could take a cross-country road trip with our U.S.A. Study Tour or spend a semester studying abroad. You might team with your professor to study the effects of drug use on brain cells or to write a business plan for an entrepreneur. Or you could serve an internship in a TV news department or as an aide to a national political campaign. The possibilities are as wide as the real world.

Be Successful. B-W offers a distinctive approach to the integration of the liberal arts and career preparation. We will work closely with you to identify your intellectual interests and career objectives and to ensure that you make significant progress toward your goals each year. Your professors, rich in real-world experience as well as academic expertise, and your personal career mentor will provide guidance as you move through your studies and as you make connections through B-W's established network of career resources.

Be Connected. Your involvement in campus life and co-curricular activities is just as important to your education as your classes, papers, and field experiences. Over 100 campus groups provide social, cultural, recreational, leadership and service opportunities. Nearly one-third of our students participate in varsity sports. Campus is just a few short minutes from the city of Cleveland and its cultural, educational, business and recreational resources-including Fortune 500 companies, world-class museums and cultural organizations, professional sporting events and the second-largest performing arts center in the country.
