Central Texas College
Central
Texas College is a public two-year community college located between
Killeen and Copperas Cove just off Highway 190, approximately 15
miles east of IH-35, and adjacent to Fort Hood, the largest Army
installation in the US.
The college was officially dedicated by President Lyndon Baines Johnson in December of 1967. The first graduating class in May of 1968 was made up of 25 students. Since that time, Central Campus in Killeen has awarded over 15,000 associate degrees.
Affordable Quality
CTC provides an affordable, quality education with more than 40 associate degrees and certificates of completion in academic, professional and vocational/technical fields. A wide variety of courses are offered, from agriculture to criminal justice, aviation to nursing and business administration to telecommunications. The college offers daytime, evening, and online courses. Small class sizes allow our instructors to focus on students’ individual needs.
CTC works with students who plan to transfer to a four-year degree program. The college has Matriculation agreements with many four-year institutions and classes taken at CTC will transfer to any public university in the state of Texas.

The Central Campus Financial Aid and the Veterans Services offices assist students in securing scholarships, grants, and loans. Additionally, the college Foundation offers over $70,000 in scholarships to CTC students annually.
Campus Life
Nearly
6,500 students enrolled in courses on CTC Central Campus during
Fall 2006,with an additional 3,500 students taking
classes at other sites in Texas including Fort Hood. CTC is
proud to serve a diverse student population, and we are listed as
an accredited postsecondary minority institution by the US Department
of Education.
The Student Life Activities Office provides opportunities for individual and group interaction through student organizations, tournaments, field trips, and other social and seasonal activities. There are approximately 20 officially recognized student clubs and organizations serving diverse interests at CTC. A host of Intramural sports activities are available, including volleyball, three-on-three basketball and softball, taking place in and around our new Natatorium and Physical Education Complex.
Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) courses are available to Central Texas College students through concurrent enrollment arrangements with Tarleton State University, and may also be transferred to other universities with an advanced ROTC program.
On campus living is available through a co-ed Residence Hall for 120 full-time students and student apartments for married couples and single parents with children.
Student Services
Project
PASS (Partners in Academic Success Services) provides a wide range
of tutoring, textbook lending library and non-credit refresher courses
in math and English. Disability Support Services assist students
with physical and/or learning disabilities through lending equipment
such as Braille textbooks, tape recorders, tutoring, and providing
notetaker services. Other services include Single Parent/Homemaker
Support Services, the Gender Equity Program, the Learning Resource
Center and transportation assistance, which offers bus service to
CTC from many pick-up points in the area. All of these services
are free to CTC students.
