Earn respectable wages while you learn the skills of an electrician. IEC's electrical apprenticeship program uses on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction to move students from helper status to certified electrician within four years. Our program is approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training registered with the US Department of Labor which means students receive nationally recognized credentials as a certified journeyman electrician.
The program consists of 8,000 OJT hours and 576 hours of classroom curriculum training. Classroom training includes: electrical theory and code, mathematics, safety, fire and security systems, blueprint reading, electronics, CPR, First Aid, voice data and optical fiber cable. Our state-of-the-art training facility includes five labs that offer hands-on opportunities to demonstrate the electrical theories discussed in the classroom.
