Our Success Is Measured By Yours

It all started in 1860 with a small business college located in downtown Dayton that taught subjects such as typing and shorthand. Although times have changed and Miami-Jacobs has expanded to four campus locations, Miami-Jacobs' philosophy hasn't. Career study isn't just about classes and grades; it's about being prepared. Miami-Jacobs Career College is the type of college that truly prepares its graduates for the "real world." Many high school graduates feel that a four-year college or university is the way to go. While this isn't a bad plan, it's not the best route for everyone. For those who want specific, quick, hands-on-training, Miami-Jacobs is the perfect fit!

The Right Choice For You

It can be scary looking for a college for the first time. How do you determine what is right for you? Miami-Jacobs prides itself on the personal attention it is able to give its students. Career Advocates at each campus are available for new students to guide them through the enrollment process and help them make the right career choices. Miami-Jacobs' students also have the opportunity to sit down with a professional financial aid officer who will assist them when it comes to applying for aid. By simplifying the process and not allowing its students to become overwhelmed with paperwork, the college allows its students focus on what is important-- a future career choice.

Miami-Jacobs understands different people are looking for different things when it comes to choosing a school. Miami-Jacobs prides itself on its career-focused programs. From cosmetology to auto technician to practical nursing, Miami-Jacobs students engage in hands-on training, and they get to experience real-world situations. They are actually trained to perform a job, not just given some general idea of what may be expected of them once they graduate.

Miami-Jacobs students will also get out in the workforce faster than those who attend four-year colleges. Miami-Jacobs offers both associate degree and diploma programs for a quick transition into the workforce since the curriculum is designed for students to earn their diploma or degree quickly. From day one, Miami-Jacobs students are focused on starting a career, not just getting a job.

Free tutoring, small class sizes, and instructors who are professionals in their field make it easy for new college student to adjust to college life no matter which campus they choose. With four locations in Dayton, Troy, Springboro, and Columbus, students will find a Miami-Jacobs close to home.

I'd Rather Be A Miami-Jacobs Grad Than To Compete Against One

Finding a job is not easy, especially for those with no professional experience. Career planning at Miami-Jacobs is not something that just happens close to graduation. MJCC students are prepared to begin their search the moment they sit down with a Career Advocate during their first visit to the campus. It is important to determine which career field will suit them, along with their long term goals. It only makes sense that students who are enjoying their classes are not only more successful, but happier too. Miami-Jacobs knows their graduates will succeed best in the workforce when they love what they do!

Throughout their entire time at Miami-Jacobs, students are encouraged to plan ahead for what comes after graduation. Many programs incorporate clinical and/or externships into their curriculum which allow students to experience a real work environment. Some students, such as the cosmetology, nail technology, and massage therapy students master their skills by working at on-site salons and clinics.

Students are also given the confidence and proper tools to market themselves. Career Readiness Seminars cover such topics as resume writing, how to dress, and mastering the art of interviewing. 149 years, and 3 campuses later, employers across the valley still continue to seek out Miami-Jacobs' graduates.

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

How has Miami-Jacobs been able to stay current with today's workforce demands? Easy! Miami-Jacobs'programs are "first to market” meaning we develop new programs of study (and refresh current ones) according to what is in demand in the job market. Our four campuses offer some of the most exciting and in demand programs in the field. We are proud to be training students in Automotive Technician, Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, Paralegal, Business and Office Management, Criminal Justice, Surgical Technology, Dental Assisting, Private Investigations Esthetics (skin care), Information Systems, Massage Therapy, Legal Secretary, Nail Technician, Court Reporting and Medical Assisting. We're certainly not just a "business school” anymore!

We Know Where We're Going, How About You?

From Miami-Jacobs Career College's beginnings in 1860, the college has and continues to put its students first. What began as a small business college has flourished into a staple of the Miami Valley. With four great locations, in-demand programs, hands on training, and successful graduates, we will continue our tradition of excellence for many years to come.
