Nichols College
Shaping Tomorrow's Leaders

If a college is measured by the professional success and personal enrichment of its graduates, Nichols College measures up in a big way! Nichols transforms students into skilled, confident business professionals, shaping leaders who are prepared to respond to challenges, eager to take on responsibility, and ready to succeed in the world of commerce.

Consider the following:

  • 1 out of 10 Nichols graduates is a CEO, corporate president, or business owner
  • 96% of 2006 graduates are employed in work related to their majors
  • The average starting salary of recent Nichols graduates is $40,000

Caring faculty

Nichols knows that experience is life's best teacher. Many Nichols faculty members are former CEOs, presidents, or vice presidents of America's leading companies. They have succeeded in corporate America and their stories and experiences bring the Nichols classroom to life. Class sizes are small, with an average of only 22 students. The personal attention students receive from caring and dedicated faculty help to ensure their success.

Academics

Nichols offers 20 majors to interest most business-minded students. Students receive a well-rounded education that blends arts and sciences with leading management skills and cutting-edge technology. Innovative programs help set Nichols apart. One example is the Professional Development Seminar series -- a unique four-year program that helps students learn serious study habits, hone presentation skills, and learn effective interviewing, resume writing, and portfolio development.  These valuable skills repeatedly result in job offers upon graduation.

Nichols unveils three new business concentrations
All business majors receive a BSBA with a specialization in their desired concentration. Each program builds upon the Nichols core business curriculum and provides additional specialized courses of relevance. New academic concentrations include the following:

  • Arts and Entertainment Management: This program prepares students for successful careers in the art and entertainment industry and explores the management aspects of theatres, music organizations, museums, art centers, dance groups, and more.
  • Legal Studies: This program prepares students for graduate study in law school or for careers within a law firm, such as paralegal or law office management.
  • International Business:  This program explores the world of global commerce. Using a case study approach, students explore major current issues in international business, learn critical analytical techniques, and develop information literacy skills to compete in the global market.

Campus facilities and amenities

Because Nichols is committed to developing mind and body, many facilities are provided to meet students' varied needs both in and out of the classroom. A new multi-purpose athletic stadium features the latest in turf-grass technology, and a new recreation center features a suspended track, weight room, cardio room, aerobics room, squash and racquetball courts, a climbing wall, and more. Recent construction includes a new suite-style residence hall slated for occupancy in 2008.

Nichols College also boasts state-of-the-art technology throughout campus. The entire campus is wired for voice, data, and video. Every residence hall, classroom, and numerous other facilities are networked to help students take advantage of technology across campus. Numerous hot spots are available for wireless usage. Three dining locations provide award-winning food service, convenience, and variety.

Location and safety

Nichols is a friendly, safe, and student-focused campus set atop 200 acres of rolling hills in the suburban, southern Massachusetts town of Dudley. The campus is conveniently located within an hour's drive of Boston. The picturesque Nichols campus is among the safest in the nation with Public Safety on duty 24 hours a day.  In fact, APBNews.com/CAP reported Nichols College among the schools in the nation with the lowest risk of crime.

The student is the focus

There's a popular phrase that's often repeated at Nichols: "Your Success Is Our Business."  It speaks to the College's total commitment to preparing its students to becoming the successful leaders of tomorrow, both in their professional and personal lives.
