Ohio Administrative District Council
Of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Apprenticeship Programs in Ohio

The Ohio Administrative District Council is the Administrative arm of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, which includes Local Unions in Ohio and Kentucky and over 7000 members, providing training through joint apprenticeships and journeyman level. The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) is the oldest continuous Union, most respected, and highly skilled trade Unions in the United States and Canada.

WHAT IS A UNION?
A Union is an organization of workers joined together for a common purpose, for mutual aid and protection, to collectively bargain and improve their quality of life at home and at work. A "Union" is a group of workers who work for the same Employer (or group of Employers) and use their collective strength to bargain for the group.

If you are serious about wanting safe working conditions, better benefits, an honest days pay for an honest days work, job security, and dignity at work, become a Union craftworker. The National Labor Relations Act (NLCA) guarantees your right to talk to and about the Union to your co-workers and your Employer without repercussions.

The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers' apprenticeship and training system is widely recognized for producing highly skilled craftworkers. Through Local Union programs and those offered through the International Masonry Institute, BAC members and Contractors have access to training opportunities unmatched in the Masonry Industry.

Since its founding in 1865, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers has actively fought to improve our members' quality of life – on and off the job – through access to fair wages, good benefits, safe working conditions, and solidarity among members.

Today, we represent the most highly skilled trowel trades craftworkers across the United States and Canada including:

  • Bricklayers
  • Stone and Marble Masons
  • Cement Masons
  • Plasterers
  • Tilesetters
  • Terrazzo and Mosaic workers
  • Pointers / Cleaners / Caulkers

With over a century of protecting the rights of our workers, BAC is the oldest continuous Union in North America.

  • Prescription drug card
  • Retired members plan
  • Accidental death benefit
  • Weekly disability pay
  • Life Insurance

PENSION PLAN

Our pension plans provide a steady and secure income to the member and his/her family. In the event a member should die, his/her surviving spouse continues to receive his pension. Local pension plans are totally separate from any other individual retirement plans or social security.

A Federal Insurance Agency, the "P.B.G.C" (Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation) guarantees your pension will be there for you. We have separate fund offices with trained Administrators to handle all members' claims, which remove the burden from the Employer. Adequate pension retirement benefits allow you to retire with security and dignity that a lifetime of hard work deserves.
