As Pennsylvania's premier technical college, Pennsylvania College of Technology offers "degrees that work" — offering over 95 percent placement (100 percent in many majors) to graduates in programs that represent more than 100 different career areas.
Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State, committed to applied technology education. Partnerships with business and industry provide students with opportunities for real-world experience in the classroom and on the job. Unique bachelor's and associate's degree programs combine hands-on instructional opportunities with theory and management education to prepare graduates for success in the world of work.
In Fall 2008, more than 6,500 students were enrolled at Penn College. Forty percent of the student body were enrolled in baccalaureate degree majors that emphasize applied technology in fields ranging from business, computer, design, construction and industrial technologies to health sciences, human services, communications, hospitality, and transportation technologies. Other students are enrolled in programs that offer associate degrees or certificates, as well as college and university transfer options.
Penn College offers a rich campus life experience including on-campus and off-campus housing, intercollegiate and intramural athletics, student governance and organizations. The College also offers a wide variety of Workforce Development and Continuing Education initiatives that support business and industry throughout the commonwealth.
Partnerships with industry leaders like Ford, Honda, Mack, Caterpillar and Textron help students forge successful school-to-work relationships, and a faculty-to-student ratio of 1-to-18 ensures small class sizes. State-of-the-art teaching laboratories and industry-standard equipment are provided, and a variety of academic-support programs and services - including free tutoring - help students succeed.

The College's eight academic schools are: Business and Computer Technologies, Construction and Design Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Industrial and Engineering Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology. Instruction is offered at the main campus and the Advanced Automotive Technology Center in Williamsport, the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville and the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood.
With one computer for every five students enrolled, there is easy access for completing homework assignments, performing research on the Internet and communicating with faculty, family and friends.
Four modern student-residence complexes are available, serving 1,400 on-campus. Full-time Residence Life staff members supervise each facility, and trained Resident Assistants live on-site at each location.
A variety of privately-owned student residences also are available in the local community.
The Student and Administrative Services Center offers student-focused offices in one convenient location on the main campus (Admissions, Advisement Center, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Student Accounts and Registrar).
Penn College offers 9 Dining units, and several meal-plan payment options are available. The Student Activities Office offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities, including musical performances, lectures, leadership programs, student clubs and organizations, and Greek life. The Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport is a wholly owned subsidiary of the College, offering fine live performances and films at affordable prices.
The College offers 15 varsity sports: five men's, five women's, and five co-ed teams. Ten teams are eligible for national championships in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
Penn College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
