Paul Mitchell The School - Atlanta is located in the New York of the South. Home to Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, So So Def Records, and the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta is an ideal city to begin your career as a hairstylist in the billion-dollar beauty industry.
In addition to providing you with a world-class education, we offer you an opportunity to begin building your portfolio. Not only will you be exposed to the many aspects of hairstyling, you will have the opportunity to be involved in various photo shoots, fashion shows, and other special events such as recruiting excursions, hair shows, and much more.
Paul Mitchell The School – Atlanta opened under the direction of John Paul Mitchell Systems’ Artistic Director, Scott Cole in 2004. We surround our Future Professionals with a creative environment and provide them with an industry-leading comprehensive cosmetology program, allowing them to leave our school with all the necessary education tools to become a successful professional hair designer.
Program
Paul Mitchell The School – Atlanta’s 1500-hour clock and credit hour program is delivered to our Future Professionals through a strategic learning set that address current industry trends as well as tasks necessary for the Georgia State Board written and practical exam.
Our graduation preparation, entry-level job skills, clinic-floor equipment, implements and products provided are parallel with top industry professionals. Each Future Professional receives personal instruction that relates to the performance of creative, useful, and productive career oriented activities. Our lesson plans reflect the latest educational methods and are presented in the form of demonstration, lectures and student participation. We also incorporate a series of industry guest speakers, creatively educational field trips as well as high quality audio-visual aides in our program.
Our full time program is Tuesday – Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.; 7 hours per day/35 hours per week. Going this schedule, students can finish the program within 11 months.
CORE – Learn the rules! In this introductory course, you'll learn the basics that will let you confidently begin working on guests, and your Learning Leaders will help you blend professional skills with personal development.
ADAPTIVE – Apply the rules! Building on the skills you learned in CORE, this intermediate level teaches the value of time management, retailing, and the art of successful communication.
CREATIVE – Expand the rules! This final phase takes you through advanced hairdressing and chemical work. During your last months and weeks toward graduation, you'll spend your time in high gear, preparing yourself for your future salon career.

Paul Mitchell The School – Atlanta’s 1500-hour education allows our Future Professionals to satisfy the Georgia State Board requirements while receiving top industry instruction, as well as practical experience in such areas as Scott Cole and Linda Yodice’s Block Color System, The Paul Mitchell Core Cutting System, Paul Mitchell take-home product knowledge, business ethics and client retention tactics.
At Paul Mitchell The School – Atlanta we pay special attention to the personal development side of our industry. We stress sanitation values, quality customer service interaction, a fashion-forward personal appearance, personal motivation, positive attitude development, state laws and regulations. We also set our Future Professionals up for career success by offering monthly professional photo shoots, resume development, portfolio development, salon-type administration, job interview preparation and job placement assistance.

- $50 non-refundable application fee (due with application)
- $250 non-refundable registration fee (due at time of registration)
- A copy of your driver's license or birth certificate
- A copy of your high school diploma or GED
