Point Park University - Bursting with energy, purpose and possibility

A metamorphosis of me
No other university will shape your life and your career quite like Point Park. Welcome, to an environment where you can jump right into your major.  Get real-life work experience.  And be energized by a hip, urban campus.  Point Park University will help you to become the person you’ve always envisioned.  And point you in the direction of a life-altering career.

Let the best version of you emerge. Today.

The City as Our Campus
Every university has a campus.  Ours just happens to be an entire city.  Point Park University is jumping with energy, creativity and culture that you’ll only find in an urban center. One visit and you’ll feel the pulse. We’re right in step with Pittsburgh. Growing. Thriving. Evolving. It’s a place where nothing – and no one – stands still.

Within a few blocks you’ll find world-class culture, big-league sports, Fortune 500 internships, and a variety of great restaurants, shops and pubs. Point Park is not your typical college experience. And in our unique, urban learning environment, you’ll not only come into your own. You’ll be changed forever.

The Point Park Experience 101:  Learn differently
Point Park offers more than 50 majors and concentrations in the arts, business, communications, education, and technology.  At Point Park you can start taking classes in your major right away. Start changing your life from day one. Our classes are small by design. So expect plenty of quality one-on-one time, career guidance, and all-around support. Our faculty practice what they teach, which means they have a wealth of professional experience and skills to share. Think of your instructors’ real-world smarts as a great supplement to all the textbook knowledge you’ll receive. Your learning will also come in the form of numerous internship opportunities. You can get hands-on experience everywhere from a Fortune 500 company to a locally owned business to a worthy nonprofit. The choice is yours.

Some town talk
Pittsburgh is one of the nation’s most unique cities. It’s big enough to keep life interesting. And small enough to feel like you own it.

With everything from a lively arts scene and major league sports to good eats and affordable housing in Pittsburgh, the world is catching on about what a desirable place it is. In a 2009 survey by Britain’s Economist, Pittsburgh was named the most livable city in the United States – and 29th in the world.

The Economist’s ranking is just one of many Pittsburgh kudos. The city ranked in the nation’s Top 20 on the Brookings Institution list in 2009. Forbes Magazine cited it as the sixth best city in “Ten Cities For Job Growth In 2009.” And in 2007, Pittsburgh was heralded “America’s Most Livable City” by Places Rated Almanac. Seize a golden opportunity. To live, and learn, in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Live, cheer, belong
Live the Point Park life in one of five residence halls in the heart of Downtown. Immediately, you’ll find yourself surrounded by vibrant culture and energy. In other words, you’ll be right at home. Our varsity sports include plenty of basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, golf (new in 2009!) and volleyball. Round out your Point Park experience by joining a club or organization. Choose from dozens of clubs that reflect the diverse interests and professional pursuits of our students.  So what’s it going to be – the American Marketing Association, College Students in Broadcasting or Performances-On Campus?

Making Your Education Affordable
Choosing a college that’s right for you can be a challenge. For most families, paying for that education is an even bigger challenge. That’s why we keep our tuition and fees as low as possible while still providing the best all-around educational experience your money can buy. Our financial aid officers will work closely with you to make it happen. Financial aid was awarded to 98 percent of our students last year, totaling $65 million. Visit www.pointpark.edu/financialaid to learn about scholarships, grants and loan opportunities. Try out our online financial aid calculator. It’s a helpful tool in your financial aid planning.
