Earn respectable wages while you learn the skills of an electrician. IEC's electrical Apprenticeship Program uses on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction to move students from helper status to certified electrician within 4 years. All IEC Apprenticeship Programs are certified by the US Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship, this means students receive nationally recognized credentials as a Journeyperson (certified Electrician).

labThe IEC Apprenticeship Program offers job referral services with local electrical member contractors. During the program, students receive well-balanced thorough classroom instruction. Some of the topics covered include residential, commercial and industrial wiring, blueprint reading, applied mathematics, electrical theory and design, motor controls, fiber optics installation and operation, fire alarm installation, programmable logic and many other electrical topics. In addition to classroom training, students conduct electrical experiments using IECs state of the art Electrical Laboratory. The Laboratory has 24 workstations where students test the electrical theories discussed in classroom training.
