Founded by the Felician Sisters of Livonia in 1937, Madonna University is an independent liberal arts university committed to teaching, scholarship and service. Madonna's current enrollment of 4,000 men and women consists of both older and younger adults with varied economic, religious, social and cultural backgrounds.

  • Conveniently located at I-96 and Levan Road in Livonia, one of the safest cities in the United States, Madonna University is on the western perimeter of metropolitan Detroit. Accessible to major highways, it is within commuting distance to Ann Arbor, Detroit, Lansing, Toledo (Ohio) and Windsor (Canada). Nationally ranked as one of the "Great Colleges for the Real World" and among U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Master's Universities," is one of the nation's largest Catholic, Franciscan universities. Located in Livonia, Orchard Lake and Southgate, Michigan.

  • A well-deserved reputation for quality and excellence, grounded in the liberal arts with solid career preparation, academics include more than 50 undergraduate majors. Graduate Studies offers 22 master's programs in the diverse areas of business, clinical psychology, criminal justice, education, health services, hospice education, liberal studies, nursing and MATESOL.

  • Among the largest Catholic, Franciscan universities in the country, Madonna University
    is attractively situated on a 49-acre wooded campus. The newly renovated Residence Hall, located next to St. Francis Pond, offers comfortable living arrangements, study areas, a fun-filled lounge and opportunities to socialize with Madonna University's diverse student body.

  • Remaining at the forefront of innovative technology, Madonna University has created a learner-centered environment that enhances both teaching and learning. Its technological advances, referred to as e2College, encompass the extended and electronic capabilities of the University, integrating technology into courses across the curriculum. The newly established Ford Motor Company Technology Wing offers opportunities for students to work collaboratively on class projects.

  • Madonna University's athletics has developed into a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II nine-sport program for men and women, including: baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball and volleyball.

    Madonna is recognized by the NAIA and is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). The campus features a regulation-size gym located in the Activities Center, which seats up to 600 people; international-size soccer field, which hosts camps and tournaments; baseball field and fast-pitch softball field. Athletic grants and scholarships are available to students who show promising talent and have demonstrated academic success.

  • Across the curriculum, students have a variety of academic service-learning opportunities that incorporate community service with civic learning to provide real-world experiences beyond the traditional classroom and a deeper understanding of course objectives.

  • Travel and study abroad opportunities are facilitated through the Center for International Studies. Laying the groundwork for a value-added credential for students, the Center of International Studies has developed a 30-semester hour Certificate of Achievement in International Studies.

  • The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is dedicated to developing multicultural and international perspectives through educational, social and cultural programming. The OMA provides services to individual students and assists in their adjustment to the Madonna University community and supports student organizations on issues related to diversity.

  • A full range of services are provided by the Career Services office: resume writing and interviewing workshops; co-operative education and internships for valuable work experience related to your field of study; job fairs, career counseling; student employment; and alumni services.

  • Madonna University provides financial assistance to admitted students whose scholastic aptitude merits a scholarship and/or whose personal and family resources are inadequate to meet the educational cost. Through grants, scholarships, loans, work-study programs, and special tuition payment plans, a Madonna University education is accessible and affordable.

  • With tuition well below the national average for private universities, Madonna University remains Michigan's most affordable, independent liberal arts university. No student at Madonna University pays the full cost of his/her education due to the generosity of many benefactors and fund-raising efforts. Tuition covers only 80% of the actual operating costs.
